Established at Wellesley College in 2005, Courage & Renewal Northeast is a regional affiliate of the Center for Courage & Renewal, founded by Parker J. Palmer, and brings the principles and practices of Courage & Renewal to educators and leaders in Massachusetts.
For over 20 years, the Center for Courage & Renewal has worked to create a unique approach to renewing personal identity, professional integrity and vocational vitality. First developed with public school teachers as Courage to Teach®, this approach is now being offered to a growing number of interested persons in other professions and has become a resource to leaders in K-12 education and beyond.
The Courage & Renewal Northeast team developed Leading Together: Strengthening Adult Community in Schools, the Center for Courage & Renewal’s training and coaching-based professional development model focused on enhancing and supporting the adult community in schools. The program’s aims are to improve professional capacity, relational trust, collaboration, quality of instruction, and ultimately student outcomes.
We also collaborate with the Massachusetts School Administrators’ Association to provide The Soul of Leadership, a personal and leadership renewal program for principals supported by the Angell Foundation.
